The Project Partner and Steering Committee Meeting of the EU-project Intermare South Baltic took place from the 3rd to 4th of December 2019 in Gdansk (Poland). Since the project started two years ago and thus, will end in June 2020, the final tasks and further ideas for the last months as well as the progress in the different work packages were discussed. Thereby, Robert Philipp as a representative of our EPC team at Hochschule Wismar (PP8) among other things presented the next steps in the course of WP3 – specifically O3.3 Marketing Strategy. By doing so, the main crucial points were the presentation of the background and analysis approach as well as the following discussion based on the previous works that were delivered by the EPC team.
Next to the discussion of the working package 3, led by the University of Wismar, the consortium discussed the current status and potentials of increasing the quality for all working packages. Thereby, the focus led on the implementation plan regarding the final Intermare Expo, which will take place from the 22nd to 24th of June 2020 in Gdansk (Poland) – hosted by the Lead Partner Gdansk International Fair Co.
Furthermore, event dates for the upcoming year were agreed and will be published soon.
Lastly, the Steering Committee discussed the option of prolonging the project – the decision is still open.
INTERMARE South Baltic is the unique blue economy exhibition for enterprises that are active in Transport, Shipbuilding and ship repair, Renewable energy, Offshore oil and gas, Fishery, Aquaculture, Coastal and maritime tourism, Biotechnology, Mineral resources(, etc.). More than 3,000 visitors from all over the world will come to the fair and experience the current up-to-date international innovation standards of the maritime industry. During the international fair, more than 150 companies from the blue economy sector will present them-selves incl. the greatest achievements of the branch. At the same time, the “GreenMare Summit” takes place, where professionals will share their products and services as well as expertise regarding autonomous shipping, modern shipbuilding, robotic container terminals, artificial intelligence applications and other great maritime innovations. The exhibition represents a global platform and ideal show venue for the international highly connected blue economy. Through this, the fair fosters a smart and sustainable development of the blue industry by strengthening existing and creating new business contacts and networks. Moreover, virtual database of exhibitors, B2B events, plenary and conference sessions as well as personal contacts enable to receive answers on how to turn each onshore and offshore business activity towards higher / greater efficiency and profitability.
