EPC, EU Projects & Project Partner Meeting on Europort 2019

European Project Center and Hochschule Wismar as Lead Partner in the Connect2SmallPorts Project and Project Partner in the Intermare South Baltic Project (both: South Baltic Programme 2014-2020) were present at the Europort 2019 in Rotterdam on 5-8 November 2019. Visitors and Exhibitors from all over the world met our colleague Robert Philipp at Hall 5, Booth no. 5024 at the Intermare South Baltic stand.

The exhibition was extremely successful!

Companies from all over the world (e.g. Honeywell Enraf Tanksystem, Kawasaki Heavy Industries Europe B.V., Loewe Marine, DNV GL SE, MAN Energy Solutions, Liebherr, Mitsubishi Turbocharger & Engine Europe, Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha, Turku Repairs Yard, VDMA AG Marine Equipment and Systems, Würth, Volvo Penta Europe, HEAT Nord, Foro Maritimo Vasco, Wärtsilä, Robert Bosch GmbH Large Engines, Pearl, Scania CV AB, Schottel, Tallinn Shipyard, Trelleborg Marine Technology, etc.) showed great interests in the objectives of the Connect2SmallPorts project and confirmed the need to support small and medium sized seaports in the fast growing digitalisation trend, as well as provided product and service solutions in the maritime sector.

Next to autonomous shipping, lower emission and ICT solutions, also interesting workshops and conference sessions about Marine Industry 4.0, Naval innovations as source of inspiration, Maritime solutions for offshore renewable energy, Business models for the future, optimizing efficiency of short sea operations, Reducing the carbon footprint of ferries and cruise ships, Launch of Shipathon 2020 and Youngship seminar had been discussed and presented.

Moreover, on 6 November 2019, there was a Project Partner Meeting in the frame of our EU Project Intermare South Baltic, where the final stepping-stones were discussed for the last year of the project, as well as potential and new pathways for the future.
