The visit took place together with representatives from the partner organisations of the DigiTechPort2030 project, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the Southern Baltic 2021-2027 programme. During the week-long stay in Singapore, the project team made more than 200 new contacts, established new partnerships at various networking events and visited research institutions.
During the first few days, the project partners participated in a two-day conference on decarbonisation and digitalisation of the maritime industry and economy, which was accompanied by a visit to the Singapore TCOMS (Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine) research facility. Simultaneously, individual discussions were held at the maritime exhibition.
To embed the shared ambition to decarbonise the maritime industry, an exchange of potential research activities took place with universities such as the Polytechnic University of Singapore and the Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine in Singapore (TCOMS). Topics such as aquaculture and offshore wind energy and the testing of new facilities for these future drivers of green change in Singapore were also discussed. Further project events are planned as part of the annual Baltic Ports Conference 2024 in Klaipėda, Lithuania, in the first week of September 2024.
