On behalf of the “Connect2SmallPorts – South Baltic Small Ports as Gateways towards Integrated Sustainable European Transport System and Blue Growth by Smart Connectivity Solutions” the Kick Off Meeting within the Seed Money Project under the Lead of Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences: Technology, Business and Design (Germany) was held at the premises of the Polish Project Partner – Motus Foundation in Gdynia, Poland on 29th August 2017.
The Connect2SmallPorts Seed Money project is being implemented in the frame of the South Baltic Programme 2014-2020 (ERDF part- financed). The project aims at developing SB Small Ports belonging to comprehensive and non-TEN-T Network of the EU Transportation System towards future flagship gateways having access to the Integrated Sustainable Transport System and contributing to smart regional blue and green growth. Min.30 pilot SB small ports will be transferred to future flagship smart and sustainably operating ports (envisaged duration 36 M – July 2018–June 2021).

The Kick-off Meeting granted a unique opportunity to underpin the set project scope and scale and to efficiently kick-start the project, discussing our contributions, joint actions, events, deliverables and results, as well as exchanging experiences, needs and expectation in terms how to better involve small ports into the regional transport and innovation system and to benefit regional development, open up new growth perspectives emerging through new networking possibilities, synergy effects and cross-sectoral cooperation. This is an essential step in preparing and submitting the full application in December 2017.
