The annual GreenPort Congress was held this year in Piraeus, Greece, Oct. 20-22, 2021. The EPC, in the person of Christopher Meyer, presented a study on "sustainable electrification and digitalization of small and medium-sized ports along the TEN-T network". It is a result of cooperation with the ports of Marvele, Klaipeda, Wismar, Bari and Corfu, in which individual pilot measures were developed and their emission savings evaluated.
The conference provided a meeting place for over 180 decision-makers from the port industry - port authorities, terminal operators, shipping companies and logistics companies - to learn about and discuss the latest developments in sustainable development and environmental practices so that they can effectively implement the changes needed to reduce their carbon footprint and address environmental concerns.
